HARRY C. RICHMOND was born in New Jersey around 1861. He first moved to Camden around 1883. A carpenter by trade, he married his wife Georgianna shortly thereafter, at the age of 23. He was a well known baseball player in and around Camden in the 1890s, and was the Democrat county committeeman for Camden's 4th Ward for many years.
The 1890 Camden City Directory shows him as living at 425 Clinton Street, and working as a ship carpenter. The family lived at 440 Stevens Street for many years. At the time of the 1930 Census the Richmond family lived at 418 Mickle Street. Harry Richmond was still working as a building carpenter at the time of the census.
Harry Richmond passed away in January 1938 at the age of 77. He was buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Camden. He was survived by sons Harry, Frank, and Joseph, a daughter, and 10 grandchildren.
