FRANK B. OPPECKER SR. was born September 8, 1895 in Austria-
Hungary. He came to America at age 12. Musically gifted and trained on the violin, by the 1920s he was a member of the faculty of the Philadelphia Conservatory of Music, and was giving music lessons to students on his own in Camden by 1927.

Frank B. Oppecker married at age 27. By January of 1928 his wife Louise had bore two sons, Frank Jr. and Joseph. The family then owned a home at 451 Carteret Street. Both sons would follow their father into music. Frank and Louise Oppecker would remain at 451 Carteret Street into the 1960s. They had moved to 1081 Morton Street in Camden by October of 1970.

Frank B. Oppecker Sr. remained a Camden resident until his death in August of 1985.
