Derrick
Ramsey


After playing for Camden High School alongside Art Still, Camden native Derrick Ramsey starred for the University of Kentucky, where he was the 1977 third-team All-American at quarterback. He took Kentucky to a 10 win season in 1977, and scored 25 rushing touchdowns during his collegiate career.

He went on to a 10-year career in the NFL, where he played tight end for the Oakland and Los Angeles Raiders, the New England Patriots, and the Detroit Lions. He caught 188 passes and scored 21 touchdowns. Derrick Ramsey returned to Kentucky, and is now the athletic director for Kentucky State University
