Oresto
Antonini

ORESTO ANTONINI was born in Celano, Italy around 1877. He came to America in 1907 and by 1910 was working as a laborer at the New York Shipbuilding Company shipyards, not far from where he made his home at 1807 South 4th Street by 1910. His wife, Filomena, came from Italy in 1913, and they were married soon afterwards. The Antoninis had eight children by the time of the 1930 census.

Still working at the shipyard although he had passed his 70th birthday, Oresto Antonini was killed on June 28, 1950 when struck by an electric locomotive at the New York Shipbuilding Corporation shipyard. He was buried at Calvary Cemetery in Delaware Township (present-day Cherry Hill) NJ.
