Brickner was drafted into the United States Army at Camden, New
Jersey on September 16, 1942. He had completed one year of high
school before going to work. When he was inducted, Howard Brickner
was already married.
Brickner is not listed in the 1947 Camden City Directory, but he
had moved back by 1950. He was appointed
to Camden Fire Department on January 13, 1951, and reported for
duty three weeks later.
Brickner's mother Ethel is listed in the New Jersey Bell
Telephone Company's 1970 Directory at 1264 Decatur
may have been living with here, records currently at hand are
inconclusive. Ethel Brickner died in June of 1971.
serving the City of Camden for over 27 years, Howard Brickner
March 1, 1978. He later resided at 114 Woodlawn Avenue in
Collingswood, New Jersey. Last
a resident of Mount Ephraim, New Jersey, Howard Brickner died on
June 4, 1983.
