CHARLES SAMUEL CLEMENTS was born in Philadelphia on November 10, 1889. 

By 1917 Charles S. Clements was living with his wife Elizabeth at 423 Webster Street. When he registered for the draft in June of that year he was working as a driver for the Camden Bottling Company, located at 254 Kaighn Avenue. A daughter, Virginia E. Clements, was born in 1918. 

Charles S. Clements joined the Camden Fire Department on January 1, 1921 and served for over 30 years, primarily with Engine Company 3. He also filled in when required at Engine Company 2 and Engine Company 11. He was still on active duty with the Fire Department when he passed away on May 27, 1951.

Mr. and Mrs. Clements were still at 423 Webster Street when the 1924 City Directory was compiled. By 1929 they had moved to 445 Jackson Street. His neighbor at 447 Jackson Street until the summer of 1942 was brother firefighter Anthony Valentine. The Clements family was still at 445 Jackson Street when Charles S. Clements passed away.
