ANDREW H. FOREMAN JR. was born in Philadelphia on April 29, 1920 to Blondella and Andrew Foreman.

Andrew Foreman lived in Philadelphia prior to World War II. He completed two years of high school before entering the workforce. On February 27, 1942 Andrew Foreman was inducted into the United States Army. He served with one of the three all-black Tank Battalions that were active in France and Germany during the war, and had been promoted to Corporal prior to his leaving the Army.

By 1946 Andrew Foreman was married and living in East Camden, at 214 North 28th Street. On January 13, 1951 he was appointed to the Camden Fire Department, and reported for duty with Ladder Company 2 at 619 Kaighn Avenue three days later. He served with Ladder Company 2 for over 30 years, retiring on July 1, 1981

Andrew Foreman and his wife, the former Carolyn Jones had moved to 2801 Thompson Street in the same East Camden neighborhood by the fall of 1956. His brother-in-law was Camden police detective Nathan Jones. His next door neighbor at 2803 Thompson was fellow Camden fire fighter George W. Meriwether. Andrew Foreman was still residing on Thompson Street when he passed away on December 3, 2006. Andrew H. Foreman Jr. was survived by his wife and daughter, Phyllis Foreman Hinson.

FOREMAN, ANDREW H., JR.
On December 3, 2006, at John F. Kennedy, Cherry Hill. Age 86. Beloved husband of Carolyn J. Foreman (nee Jones). Loving father of Phyllis Foreman Hinson. Son of Andrew H. Foreman, Sr. and Blondella Foreman, brother of Malcolm and Evelyn (all deceased).
Andrew was a dedicated 30 year veteran of Camden City Fire Department and Vice President of the Brotherhood of United Fire Fighters. Andrew was born in the Frankford section of Philadelphia but lived for 60 years in Camden, NJ. He served in the US Army in WWII as a corporal in the tank division and received the Normandy Medal in 1997 for distinguished service.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn J. Foreman, daughter, Phyllis Foreman Hinson, and a host of loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on December 9, 2006, 10:00 AM at St. John Baptist Church, 400 N. 30th St., Camden, NJ. Relatives and friends may call beginning at 9:00AM at the church. Interment Sunset Memorial Park following the service.
