FIRST LIEUTENANT MILTON O. WOLFE of Haddon Heights NJ was born in 1916, on of at least seven children born to Merritt and Alletta Wolfe. The elder Wolfe was a a salwesman and later an executive with a metals firm. The family resided ion Tenth Avenue in Haddon Heights New jersey. When the census was taken in 1920, the Wolfe clan was at 28 Tenth Avenue. By April of 1930 they had moved to 34 Tenth Avenue. Milton Wolfe had graduated high school and had attended one year of college prior to being drafted, on July 8, 1942 at Camden NJ. He was single, with dependents, when inducted. After induction, Milton Wolfe qualified for Officer Candidate School, and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant, and was later promoted to First Lieutenant. He was killed in action while serving America in 1945. |
