The balance of the department consists of 145 members (Hosemen, Laddermem, Tillermen, Drivers). Salaries as per grade of service. One Mechanician, salary, $1,800.00, and 11 Housemen, salary $400.00, Total 192 men.

First grade, consisting of firemen who have, completed four years of service in the employment of the city, $1,620.00

Second grade, consisting of firemen who have completed three years of service in the employment of the city, #1,500.00.

Third grade, consisting of firemen who have completed two years of service in the employment of the city, #1,380.00.

Fourth grade, consisting of firemen who have completed one year of service in the employment of the city, #1,260.00.

Fifth grade, consisting of firemen who have been ir the service of the city less then one year, $1,200.00.

Engine Company No. 1.
      Location- No. 409 Pine Street

Second-class Metropolitan steam fire engine, rebuilt by the Commercial Truck Co., with an electric tractor. American La France combination hose and chemical; capacity, 1,000 feet of hose, 250 feet of 3/4-inch chemical hose.

Engine Company No. 2.
      Location- N. W. corner Fifth and Arch Streets

Second-class 2-in-l (gasoline) rotary pump, made by James Boyd & Bro., capacity, 1,200 feet of hose, with 250 feet of 1 3/4-inch chemical hose. Robinson combination hose and chemical; capacity, 1,000 feet of hose, with 250 feet of 3/4-inch chemical hose. Gasoline.

Engine Company No. 3
      Location- No. 1813 Broadway

Second-class Metropolitan steam fire engine, by the American La France Fire Engine Co., with gasoline tractor. Robinson combination hose and chemical; capacity, 1,200 feet of hose, with 250 feet of 3/4-lnch chemical hose. Gasoline

      Location- No. 320 Vine Street

Second-class Amoskeag steam fire engine, rebuilt by the Commercial Truck Co., with an electric tractor. Seagrave combination hose end chemical; capacity, 1,000 feet of hose, with 250 feet of 3/4-inch chemical hose. Rebuilt by the Commercial Truck Co., with electric chassis.

      Location- Fourteenth and Federal Streets

      Location- Front and Linden Streets

Second-class Amoskeag steam fire engine, rebuilt by the Commercial Truck Co., with electric tractor. Seagrave combination hose and chemical; capacity, 1,000 feet of hose, with 250 feet of 3/4-inch chemical hose. Rebuilt by the Commercial Truck Co., with electric chassis.

Engine Company No. 7
      Location- No. 1115 Kaighn Avenue

Second-class Metropolitan steam fire engine, rebuilt by the Commercial Truck Co., with electric tractor. American La France combination hose end chemical; capacity, 1,000 feet of hose, with 250 feet of 3/4~lnch chemical hose, rebuilt by the Commercial Truck Co., with electric chassis.

Engine Company No. 8.
      Location- Nos 617 and 619 Kaighn Avenue

Second-class 3-in-l Motor gasoline engine, built by the American La France Fire Engine Co. capacity, 1,000 feet of hose, with 250 feet of 3/4-inch chemical hose.

Engine Company No. 9
      Location- Twenty-seventh and Federal Streets

Second-class motor gasoline engine, built by the American La France Fire Engine Co.; capacity, 1,000 feet of hose, with 250 feet of 3/4-inch chemical hose. Rebuilt by the Commercial Truck Co. , with electric chassis.

Engine Company No. 10. 
      Location- Ninth and Morgan Streets

Second-class motor gasoline engine, built by the Robinson Fire Apparatus Mfg, Co. Capacity, 1,000 feet of hose; combination hose end chemical, with 250 feet of chemical hose.

Hook and Ladder Company No. 1. 
      Location- N. W. corner Fifth and Arch Streets

American automatic aerial truck, built by American La France Fire Engine Co.; 75 feet, gasoline power and spring hoist.

Hook and Ladder Company No. 2. 
      Location- Nos. 617 and 619 Kaighn Avenue

James Boyd & Bro. ; aerial truck, 85 feet; gasoline power, gasoline hoist.

Hook and Ladder Company No. 3
      Location- Twenty-Seventh and Federal Streets

James Boyd & Bro. (city truck), 35 feet, gasoline power, with two chemical tanks.

Hook and Ladder Company No. 4.
      Location- Ninth and Morgan Streets

Built by the American La France Fire Engine Co., city truck, 55 feet, gasoline power; one chemical tank, 35 gallons, 250 feet of chemical hose.

Hose and Chemical Company No. 2.
      Twenty-seventh and Hayes Avenue

American La France combination hose and chemical; capacity 1,000 feet of hose, with 250 feet of 3/4-inch chemical hose. Rebuilt by the Commercial Truck Co., with electric chassis.

Twenty-six thousand feet of hose in the department up to date.

Supply wagon

Supply Wagon No. 1 -Stationed at northwest corner of Fifth and Arch streets. Made by the Federal Motor Co. Capacity, 3,000 pounds.
