Camden Fire Department
Fire, Rescue, & Safety Operations
February 1, 2013 * Tacony-Palmyra Bridge

This page and the other pages in this series are the successors to the series of web-page about the Camden Fire Department that began with the page Camden Fire Department: The Fires of the Summer of 2011. On this and other pages in the series you will find pictures and information regarding different events and aspects of the fire service in Camden, New Jersey.

Late afternoon on February 1, 2013 a call came over the radio reporting the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge to be on fire. The fire was beneath the bridge, on one of the caissons. Palmyra Fire Department companies were unable to lay water on this fire from above. Camden's new fireboat was summoned and dealt with the fire.

Many thanks to Bob Chester of the Pennsauken Fire Department for telling me where I could take pictures from and giving me good directions to get there.

As with the web page covering other Camden Fire Department events, if you can identify anyone that I've missed, please e-mail me. (I'm terrible at at names and faces).
