ENSIGN JOSEPH STANLEY WATSON was born on January 4, 1924 to Walter and Helen Watson. As the Watsons were members of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church on South 10th Street in Camden, it appears that the Watsons may have been of Polish descent and the name Watson was adopted from a more ethnic name. Ensign Watkins died due to circumstances unrelated to combat on March 6, 1946 in Duval County FL. He was survived by his parents, of 1449 South 9th Street, Camden NJ.

Ensign Watson was brought home, and buried at St. Joseph Cemetery in Gloucester Township NJ.
