MAN KILLED SERVING IN GERMANY
One South Jersey man is reported killed, one
missing, and seven others wounded.
PFC Frank Lilley, 28, 0f 635 Cedar Street, Camden
Lilley, son of Mr. And Mrs. Arthur Lilley, was killed instantly by shrapnel during an enemy artillery barrage on April 10, in Germany, according to word received by his parents. Three brothers are in the Army, two overseas. They are PFC Arthur Lilley and PFC Albert Lilley, both holders of the Purple Heart Medal, and Pvt. George Lilley, stationed at Camp Blanding GA. A sister, Ann Dorothy, lives at home. All four sons were employed by the J.B. VanSciver Company before entering service. Frank was in the Army for three years and overseas 27 months.
