PRIVATE CARL H. BARTH was born on January 15, 1923. He had enlisted in the Army on January 15, 1941. He trained at Fort Slocum NY until March of that year, and was then sent to Hawaii, where he served until December of 1942, when he was sent to Guadalcanal. He was killed in action while serving in the United States Army in the South Pacific on August 9, 1943.

Carl Barth was survived by his mother, Mrs. Mabel E. Barth, of 215 Linden Street in Camden NJ. His body was returned home aboard the USAT George W.G. Boyce in 1948, and he was buried at Beverly National Cemetery in Beverly NJ on June 24th of that year.
