PRIVATE LUIGI CARPANI was from Camden County NJ. He died while serving with the United States Army on September 29, 1918, and was buried the following day at Beverly National Cemetery in Beverly NJ. Private Carpani died at the onset of the influenza pandemic that struck in the fall of 1918. It is likely that he died at Fort Dix NJ, and his burial was expedited in an effort to contain the disease. |
