PRIVATE JOHN J. SHELDON was the son of Louis and Mary Sheldon. The Sheldon family resided at 100 North Broadway in Gloucester City NJ. He was drafted on July 29, 1918, and sent to the Syracuse Recruit Camp in Syracuse NY, where he was assigned to Battery A, 126th Field Artillery.

Private John J. Sheldon died of pneumonia on October 13, 1918 at the Syracuse Recruit Camp in Syracuse NY. He was survived by his parents.
