HERBERT FRANKLIN WHITE born on February 14, 1947. His home of record is Camden, NJ. He served in the United States Marine Corps attained the rank of Lance Corporal. 

Herbert F. White was the husband of Beatrice E. White and the father of Anthony E. White of Camden. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on August 31, 1966 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He arrived in Vietnam on November 6, 1967 where he was assigned for duty with Company I, 3d Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division.

During the month of March, 1968 the 3rd Battalion conducted combat operations in Thua Thien Province and on March 26 began to participate in Operation HOUSTON. On the first day of the operation, while on a patrol an enemy mine was tripped. The resulting explosion and its shrapnel killed Lance Corporal White.
He was survived by a wife and son.

Didn't know what happened. I went to the third Mar. Div. and you to the first. Wrote to your wife when I got back from Nam and got no answer. Found you on the Wall 10 years later. Miss you buddy, and still think of you today. I sure would like to meet your son. I remember you showing me his baby picture. War is hell.
