The Reynolds Leather Company was one of many business that were involved in the processing and manufacture of leather goods. The business operated out of a two story factory designed by noted architect Joseph N. Hettel at 816 Division Street. 

The Depression saw the closing of many businesses, and Reynolds Leather was one of them. By 1936 the business was no more.

Forty employees, including several women, were driven from the plant of the Reynolds Leather Company, in rear of 816 Division Street, when a fire was discovered there yesterday. 

The workers left in orderly fashion and there was no confusion. Hundreds of lizard skins used in the manufacture of novelty leather goods were damaged by chemicals. Damage to the building was slight, although firemen from headquarters, Fifth and Arch streets, and from Fourth and Pine streets, spent half an hour at the plant. The building is a two-story brick structure. An employee discovered flames behind bricks in the chimney on the second floor.
