James M. Cassady, a prominent character in Camden, died at his home, 128 Federal Street. He was born in Philadelphia in 1821 and moved to Camden in 1837. 

Samuel H. Grey, of Camden, was appointed Attorney General of New Jersey. The Civic Club of Camden gave him a testimonial dinner in honor of his appointment on March 18, 1897
