Published in April 1937, this book was put together at the direction of former Mayor Frederick Von Nieda, then serving as a City Commissioner and the Director of Public Affairs, with help from the Federal Works Progress Administration, and cooperation from the Camden County Chamber of Commerce, Camden County Real Estate Board, and the South Jersey Port Commission.

Thanks to Barbara and Bud Thomas, and Ed Milewski for making portions of this book available. A Prepared during the height of the Depression in the 1930s, Camden, like many other municipalities in New Jersey and the United States, was having problems paying its bills.
