Wysocki


STANLEY WYSOCKI was born Joseph Stanley Wysocki, but went by his middle name. He was born in Camden, New Jersey on September 30, 1942 to Stanley Marion and Cecelia Drozd Wysocki. The family is listed in the 1943 Camden City Directory at 1103 Thurman Street, the home of Cecelia's parents, Joseph and Helen Drozd. Stanley M. Wysocki was then working as a shipfitter at the New York Shipbuilding Corporation shipyard on Broadway in Camden.

Stanley Wysocki left high school after the 11th grade to enlist in the United States Navy, where he served from October 8, 1959 through July 19, 1961. He returned to Camden and worked a number of jobs, including stints as a factory mechanic and as machine operator. 

Stanley Wysocki's uncle, Stanley Kaminski, had been appointed to the Camden Fire Department in April of 1944 and had served primarily with Engine Company 3  

at 1815 Broadway until his death in January of 1960. Another uncle, Leonard Drozd, was been appointed to a position as a Police & Fire Signal System Inspector in the the Camden Fire Department's Electrical Bureau in 1953. 

On August 2, 1965 Stanley Wysocki was appointed to the Camden Fire Department and reported for duty that day. He was then living with his wife Darlene and daughter Patricia Anne in the Canterbury Apartments in the Morgan Village section of Camden. Stanley Wysocki was promoted to Captain on January 8, 1972. Two other daughters were born to the Wysockis, Holly and Tamara.

Stanley Wysocki served with the Camden Fire Department for over 25 years, retiring on pension on April 1, 1991. Last a resident of Maple Shade, New Jersey, he passed away on August 30, 2014.

Stanley Wysocki had been a member of St. Joseph's Church in Camden and the Polish American Citizens Club of Camden County, the successor organization to the old Polish American Citizens Club on Lowell Street in Camden. He also was a member of the National Rifle Association,

Stanley J. Wysocki
AGE: 71 • Maple Shade

On August 30, 2014, of Maple Shade, formerly of Camden. Age 71.

Beloved husband of the late Darlene Wysocki. Predeceased by daughter Patricia Wysocki. Loving father of Holly Wysocki of Delaware and Tamara A. Wysocki of Maple Shade. Proud grandfather of April Schnell.

Stanley was a retired Captain for the Camden Fire Department with 26 years of service. He was a member of the P.A.C.C. of Camden County and also a member of the N.R.A. 

Mr. Wysocki was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Navy.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church, 1010 Liberty Street, Camden, NJ 08104. Interment at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Stanley's memory may be made to St. Joseph's Restoration Fund. Condolences and memories may be shared at CiechanowskiFH.com.
