JOSEPH L. JAGODZINSKI was born in New Jersey, one of at least seven children of son of Anthony and Konstantya Jagodzinski, on November 19, 1896. By 1910 the family had settled at 1050 Liberty Street in Camden, near St. Joseph Catholic Church. His father, who had worked as a locomotive blacksmith, passed by January of 1920, when the census was enumerated. Joseph Jagodzinski then was working as a machinist, and living with his mother and brothers Charles and Stanley at 1050 Liberty Street.

Joseph Jagodzinski secured an appointment to the Camden Police force in the 1920s. At the time of the 1930 census he resided at 1139 Whitman Avenue with wife Carrie and daughter Constance. The Jagodzinski family would remain at that address though the late 1940s. By 1947 Joseph Jagodzinski had been promoted to detective. 

Joseph Jagodzinski was last a resident of Somerdale NJ. He passed away in August of 1980.
