HERMAN J. "HARRY" VOLLMER was born in Pennsylvania in 1893, and came to Camden as a boy. He married around 1911. At the time of the 1920 census, he lived at 1129 South 2nd Street in Camden, and was working as a fireman on one of the railroad ferries then operating between Philadelphia and Camden. He later became the president of the Camden Building Trades Council.
Harry Vollmer eventually moved to Cressona PA, where he died on January 24, 1950.
