GEORGE H. DURAR III was born in Bronx, New York to Jean and George Durar Jr. He was one of four children, the others being brother Brandon and sisters Daralyn and Deana.

After serving in America's military, George Durar III was appointed to the Camden Fire Department on December 16, 1974. By 1994 he had been promoted to Captain, serving with Engine Company 11. Under his command at that time were firefighters Donald Johnson, Frank Sandrock Sr., and Luis Vera. It should be noted that both Johnson and Sandrock eventually rose to the rank of Battalion Chief while serving with the Camden Fire Department. George Durar retired on January 1, 2000.

A resident of Atco, New Jersey since 1979, George Durar was a member of the American Legion, participated in a number of pool leagues. He enjoyed auto racing and motorcycles.

George Durar suffered a near fatal fall at home in the early 2010s. Sadly however, he was diagnosed with cancer, that took him on July 27, 2017.

George H. Durar, 3rd, age 65 of Atco, NJ passed away at home on Thursday July 27, 2017. Beloved husband of Nancy (nee Imperato). Loving father of Allison Tippin and Brian Durar. Proud grandfather of Kayleigh. He is also survived and will be sadly missed by his brother Brandon Durar, sister Deana Young, as well as several nieces and nephews. George is predeceased by his parents Jean and George Durar, Jr. and his sister Daralyn Runge.

George was born in Bronx, NY and had resided in Atco, NJ since 1979. He worked for Camden City Fire Department, reaching the rank of Captain, before retiring in 2000 after 25 years of service. Known as "Fireman George," he was involved in several South Jersey pool leagues for many years. He was a member of Gibbsboro American Legion Post 371. George was also an avid racing fan, enjoying all types of auto racing.

Viewing will be held on Tuesday August 1, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Leroy P. Wooster Funeral Home, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. Cremation will be held privately. For more informatio
