CHARLES W. "CHUCK" CAHILLY II was born in 1941. In 1965 and 1966 he served in Vietnam with Kilo Company, Third Battalion, Seventh Marine Regiment, United States Marine Corps. After returning from Vietnam Chuck Cahilly was appointed to the Camden Police Department in 1968. He worked for the Department in many capacities, including as a K-9 officer, for over 27 years, retiring in February of 1996 with the rank of Detective. Besides his time with the United States Marine Corps, he was a member of the New Jersey National Guard, and retired from federal service as well. He was also instrumental in reviving the Camden Police Department Honor Guard in the late 1960s. A longtime resident of Haddon Township, New Jersey, Charles W. Cahilly II was married to Mary E. Mollenkopf. There were five children, Sherry, Mary, Charles W III, Jennifer, and Deborah Ann. Charles W. Cahilly II was a member of the Marine Corps League, Mt. Holly Masonic Lodge #14, Sons of Union Veterans, Fraternal Order of Police, NRA, and was a Civil & Revolutionary War re-enactor. . Charles W. Cahilly II passed away on April 20, 2015. |
