REVEREND WALTER SCOTT DUNLOP worked as a newspaperman in the United States and in Europe before entering the ministry. In the late 1920s he served as the pastor of the First Baptist Church in Wheeling West Virginia, In the latter months of 1929, he accepted the presidency of Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi WV. After the resignation of the Rev. George Finney in February of 1936, Reverend Dunlop came to Camden's North Baptist Church. He was extended the call to assume the pastorate shortly afterwards. Reverend Dunlop was installed as pastor of North Baptist Church in October of 1936. By August of 1939 he had returned to West Virginia, where he became the pastor of the Old Greenbriar Baptist Church in Alderson. He retired in the spring of 1943, and moved with his wife and daughters Margaret Jean and Bonnie to Daytona Beach, Florida. Reverend Dunlop passed away in Volusia County, Florida in 1953.
