Carroll

MARGARET CARROLL lived in the 500 block of State Street in North Camden from the late 1920s until her death in June of 1967 at the age of 96. Born in Ireland, she came to America in 1903 with her husband Michael.

The Carrolls lived at 528 North 9th Street as early as 1906 and were still at that address in 1914. By the summer of 1918, when Michael Carroll registered for the draft, and through the time of the 1924 City Directory's compilation, the Carroll family resided at 543 Cedar Street in North Camden. Michael Carroll worked for a time as a trolley car conductor during these years.

By April of 1930 the Carroll family had purchased a home at 543 State Street. The family then included children Mary, Francis, John, and Michael Carroll Jr.

By 1947 Margaret Carroll was a widow. She had by then moved across the street, to 546 State Street, where she lived out her days.

Margaret Carroll was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church.
