EDWARD G. LOCKE was born in Gloucester County and came to Camden in 1888. He was in the specialty paper manufacturing business, and until January 1, 1916 operated his business on land later occupied by the Victor Talking Machine Company. Later that year he went back into production, founding the Locke Glazed Paper Company at North 9th and Bailey Streets in North Camden. 

Edward Locke made his home at 537 Linden Street with his  wife and daughter. He was active in the affairs if the First Presbyterian Church and a early member of the Camden Rotary Club.

Edward Locke suffered a fatal heart attack on the morning of May 16, 1922.
