CLIFFORD EUBANKS SR. was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on March 13, 1911 to Henry and Marie Eubanks. He boxed professionally, dropped out of high school, but returned to get his diploma at the age of 21. He was still living with his parents in Pittsburg when the Census was taken in 1940.
Clifford Eubanks moved to Camden in the 1940s. Night courses in chemistry led to a job as a lab assistant with RCA. He and his family were among the first to move into the newly-built Chelton Terrace public housing project homes in 1944, taking up residence at 2106 South 7th Street.
Clifford Eubanks retired from RCA at the age of 65, and went into a second career as a construction laborer. Always physically fit, he was still on the job into his late 70s. He also became fluent in German, Korean, and New Testament Greek.
Clifford Eubanks Sr. passed away on Decemvber 17, 1989.
