PRIVATE HARRY J. PARK, was born on May 12, 1921. His father Lorenzo D. Park, was one of the first councilmen in the Borough of Lindenwold. Harry Park attended Camden County Vocational School in Pennsauken NJ, and was working as a welder at New York Shipbuilding Corporation in Camden when he was drafted. Inducted in May of 1944, Harry Park was killed in action while serving with the United States Army in Germany on February 12, 1945. He was a member of the 417 Infantry Regiment, 76th Infantry Division.
His death was reported in the Camden Courier-Post March 22, 1945 edition. He was survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo D. Park, of Laurel Road in Lindenwold, his wife Betty Park, of 2124 North 43rd Street in Pennsauken NJ, and a two year old son, Ronald Park.
He was brought home to the USA after the war, and was buried in August of 1948 at Locustwood Cemetery in what is now Cherry Hill NJ.
Harry Park is memorialized on the Lindenwold War Memorial, at the Lindenwold Municipal Building.
