PRIVATE FIRST CLASS JOSEPH J. CZEMPKAWSKI was inducted into the United States Army. The Camden Courier-Post reported on September 9, 1943 that he had been accepted for military service and placed in the enlisted reserve until September 24, when he, along with many others including Robert A. Caldwell of Laurel Springs, and David Kelchner of Haddonfield. Private Czempkawski, of 245 Jerome Avenue, in what is now Cherry Hill NJ, died of wounds received while serving in the U.S. Army in early 1945. |
