The
pictures below were found among the papers of Edward
Patterson, an Army
veteran who died alone a few years ago in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. His
mother was a Conley, and most of the pictures below appear to have been
of her, her parents, and various Conley cousins. Almost all of the
pictures below lacked names on the back, however, and I am hoping that
some people may be able to step forward and identify the people pictured
below. The photos for the most part were taken between the late 1890s
and 1960. A few are from from more recent times, perhaps around 1980 or
so. The photos are oversized to facilitate identification, and this page
might load slowly if you have a slow internet connection.
The Conley
family was in Camden by the late 1890s, and they were among the first
families to move to the new homes in Yorkship Village when it was built
during World War I. They remained a presence their for many years
thereafter. The Conleys have served Camden as members of the police
department and in other aspects of civic life in the city.
PLEASE
contact me if you can identify anyone in any of the photographs below. I
will be posting some further information about the Conley family in
Camden over the next few weeks,
Phil
Cohen
